“Palæstina” var på et tidspunkt et almindeligt navn, der blev brugt indtil 1948 til at beskrive den geografiske region mellem Middelhavet og Jordanfloden, tager man fat i det gamle testemente finder man også navnet deri, Iza / Jesus befandt sig i Palestine.
I dens historie har assyrerne, babylonierne, perserne, grækerne, romerne og egypterne blandt andre kontrolleret Palæstina på et eller andet tidspunkt. Det Osmanniske Rige styrede regionen fra 1500-tallet gennem 1917. Efter 1. Verdenskrig blev Palæstina administreret af Det Forenede Kongerige under et mandat modtaget i 1922 fra Folkeforbundet. Palæstinas moderne historie begynder med opsigelsen af det britiske mandat, delingen af Palæstina og oprettelsen af Israel og den efterfølgende israelsk-palæstinensiske konflikt.

I dag er muslimerne blevet tvunget væk fra deres hjem og land, mange er flygtet til Syrien for at finde fred. Vi som muslimer kan ikke finde os i at nogle mener at Palæstina er deres land, muslimer lukker dem ind, som det gamle ordsprog siger, “Giv en lillefinger, og de tager hele armen”. Desværre er det gået så vidt at de skyder muslimer for sjovt. Vi kan gøre vores bedste for at gøre verden opmærksom på at de skal have deres land tilbage.
